Postdoctoral Position in Perinatal Epidemiology

 

The Perinatal Research Unit at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Sainte-Justine Hospital, U of Montreal is one of the leading perinatal research group in North America, with multiple ongoing ongoing research projects funded by various agencies.  We are looking for a postdoctoral candidate in ongoing perinatal epi. research projects funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research: a) Oxidative stress, fetal growth and programming of the metabolic syndrome; or b) community characteristics and birth outcomes among aboriginal women. Candidates will be expected to assist in CIHR-funded project research activities, and may also have the opportunity to participate in other projects or novel research proposal developments in funding competitions.

 

Eligibility: Candidates must have received her/his MD or PhD degree in related areas in the last 3 years, or expected to receive a PhD within 6 months, and must have at least three first-authored publications in the areas of perinatal epidemiology, fetal and infant growth, pregnancy complications and birth outcomes, obesity and the metabolic syndrome. Other credentials of ability in epidemiologic research are preferred. This is an one-year position, with potential for renewal dependent on his/her success in peer-reviewed fellowship competitions (CIHR, etc.) and/or availability of research funds. Priorities to Canadian candidates.  Position available immediately. Interested candidates please e-mail your CV, and contact info. for at least one reference (Only will be requested if the application will be considered with the knowledge of the applicant).
