Applications are invited for a Marie Curie Fellowship for a Genetic Epidemiologist at the Twin Research Unit & Genetic Epidemiology Unit (TRU) at St Thomas' Hospital, part of the Division of Genetics and Molecular Medicine at King's College London.
The post holder is required to design and manage statistical aspects of the eye research projects at the TRU and in particular to be part of the 'MyEuropia' European Myopia Research Training Network (http://www.my-europia.net). We have extensive genetic linkage and association data relating to the genetic epidemiology of common eye diseases, such as myopia/refractive error, cataract, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration, which requires analysis. There is considerable genetic statistical experience at the Twin Research Unit and the post holder will liaise closely with the ophthalmology and genetic analysis teams at the Twin research Unit.
We are looking for an experienced Genetic Epidemiologist, educated to PhD Level, with several years experience of genetic analysis at high level and a considerable publication record in the field of genetic epidemiology, molecular genetics or equivalent disciplines. Salary is between £32,800 - £38,000 pa, depending on status and is fixed, due to specific EU regulations. The post is a two year position.
Please note that this post is a Marie Curie Fellowship and is therefore bound by strict EU regulations. Only applicants from countries outside the UK or those who have been in the UK for less than 1 year are eligible for application.
