A postdoctoral position in genetic epidemiology is available in the Department of Medicine and the Institute for Human Genetics, at University of California, San Francisco, CA, USA. Ongoing projects include family studies (both linkage and association) of age-related traits in a founder population and genetic association studies of type 2 diabetes / obesity using multiple large cohorts of unrelated individuals. We offer an excellent multidisciplinary team-oriented research environment and opportunities. A candidate should have a doctoral degree in epidemiology, genetics, biostatistics, statistics, or related fields. The successful applicant is expected to have a strong interest in genetic epidemiology of aging, type 2 diabetes and obesity. Experience in human genetic studies of complex traits and advanced computer skills (e.g. familiarity with UNIX or LINUX operating systems, programming languages, and statistical genetics methods) are of advantage.
