The Group Health Center for Health Studies (www.centerforhealthstudies.org) is seeking a doctorally trained (PhD or MD/MPH) candidate for a 2-year postdoctoral research fellowship. The Center is a multidisciplinary research organization with successful programs in a wide range of clinical, epidemiologic, and health services research areas. Applications are especially encouraged from candidates in the following areas:

Cancer epidemiology and cancer prevention
Behavioral medicine/intervention
Immunizations and infectious diseases
Patient-centered information technology in chronic care
Mind-body medicine
Complementary, alternative and integrative medicine
Mental health services

The Center is an administrative department of Group Health, a nonprofit health plan strongly committed to evidence-based health care and translation of research into practice. Faculty members include 24 MD and PhD investigators, 9 biostatisticians, and over 200 staff members. The Center is an active member of a vibrant regional research community that includes the University of Washington, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and the Seattle Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center.

Applicants should hold a degree in a relevant public health or behavioral science related field. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and a strong interest in active collaboration in public domain interdisciplinary research studies are required. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled, with the earliest start date being July, 2008. Anticipated salary is $50,000 plus benefits.
