Florida: Registered Dietitian / MPH for nutritional counseling and health promotion services, University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida

Position Announcement – Registered Dietitian

The University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida is seeking a Registered Dietitian / MPH for a part-time, 12 month position (0.80 FTE). Incumbent will provide nutritional counseling and health promotion services for the student community as part of the University of Florida's GatorWell Health Promotion Services (GWHPS) Department at the Student Health Care Center (SHCC).

Primary duties:
Provide nutrition therapy in small groups and in one-on-one sessions addressing a variety of nutritional concerns, serving as a member of the SHCC/Mental Health multidisciplinary Eating Disorder Team, and providing nutrition assessment, education, and counseling in a psychotherapeutic setting for individual patients. Experience in treating eating disorders as well as a broad range of nutritional needs is essential.

Knowledge of principles and practices of health promotion theory and evidence-based practice with the ability to translate and apply that theory with a university population is expected.

Excellent public speaking, group facilitation, writing and editing skills along with some evening and weekend hours required.

Requirements:
Master’s degree in nutrition, health education, public health, health promotion or related field, or a bachelor’s degree in the above with two years of appropriate experience. Must have or be eligible for Florida licensure as a Registered Dietitian (requirements of Ch 468 FL statutes). Expected starting salary range is $24,000- $36,000 annually; salary is negotiable based on education and experience.
