Assistant Professor
The Department of International Health of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health seeks candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor in the area of humanitarian assistance. The position will be in the Health Systems Program of the Department of International Health.
Eligible candidates should have a PhD or MD with experience in field-based research in the context of natural disasters, conflict, and complex emergencies in multiple international settings. Experience in program evaluation and quantitative statistics; experience working with a variety of service-oriented humanitarian organizations; and demonstrated ability to design, implement and document successful field projects are required.
Fluency in a second major language is highly desired. Also desired is expertise in needs assessments and the design and implementation of household surveys in the context of development, fragile states, and natural disasters.
The position will involve a balance of research, teaching, collaboration with NGOs and UN agencies, and development of new research areas for the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Refugee and Disaster Response.
