Job Description:

Director of Institutional Research and Assessment
The State University of New York College at Cortland invites applications for the position of Director of Institutional Research and Assessment. The Director reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and serves an important function for the College`s Enrollment Management team.

The director has responsibility for directing a management information program to provide data for administrative decision-making regarding students, faculty, curriculum, enrollment, finance and other areas. Major responsibilities include supervising the collection, analysis, and preservation of data for policy analysis, long range planning, internal reporting, and academic planning; developing a comprehensive database for utilization in responding to inquiries from external agencies; reporting official enrollment and teaching load data, five-year enrollment projections, and the enrollment component of the College`s budget submission; developing a series of extensive, comprehensive Program Review packets for all academic departments undergoing a review; assessing the General Education program and the assessment of the expectations and opinions of SUNY Cortland applicants, students, alumni and employers of Cortland Students; and, reviewing, interpreting, and disseminating findings of research studies.

Required Qualifications:
Doctorate degree; experience in academic program review and the use of performance indicators and student learning outcome measures; experience in institutional research and planning; knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques, research design, computerized databases, and strong analytic and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with BANNER and the ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals and be competitive for research and assessment grant opportunities.
