First Health Services Corporation, a Coventry Health Care company, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Biostatistician at our location in Glen Allen, VA.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for providing statistical expertise for design, execution, and analysis of health care and survey data in support of Medical Informatics, Quality and business initiatives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides collaborative statistical support to Medical Informatics and quality functional areas.
- Performs independent analysis of health care and business data to identify, measure, and model factors impacting health care costs and quality.
- Provides statistical expertise in the analysis of disease management initiatives, HEDIS data, quality measures and survey results.
- Supports Medical Informatics analysts in design and execution of studies, queries, and reports.
- Performs other duties as required.

Requirements
JOB SPECIFICATIONS - Master’s degree or equivalent experience in statistics. - High level of facility with statistical and database software required. SAS strongly preferred. - Previous healthcare, insurance and/or business experience preferred. - Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects. - Self-starter with drive, ability, curiosity and autonomy.
