BIOSTATISTICIAN/PROJECT EPIDEMIOLOGIST

Inflexxion, Inc., a technology-based behavioral health research and development company located in Newton, MA, is seeking an statistician/epidemiologist to assist with all aspects of a large, project involving ongoing, national surveillance of drug abuse. The successful candidate will have an interest in innovative applied research and a desire to work within a dynamic, creative, and fast-paced environment.

Position:

The Biostatistician/Project Epidemiologist at Inflexxion is a “hands on” position that provides statistical and epidemiological input on study and project design, helps develop statistical and data SOPs, conducts analyses, and prepares regular reports.

Responsibilities: ** Assist team in developing study and project design. ** With input from team and consultants, conduct analyses of data for ongoing surveillance, as well as for selected projects as assigned ** Assist with development and maintenance of Inflexxion databases ** Obtain, maintain and analyze national databases ** Manage data deliverables, effectively delegate tasks, track timelines, and monitor budgets ** Work with team to prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations for scientific conferences ** Present results at conferences and to stakeholders. ** Develop and maintain statistical and data SOPs.


Requirements
Requirements: ** Master’s Degree, ABD with at least 3 years experience or PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, quantitative psychology, public health or related area with a specialization in statistics and experimental design. (New doctoral degrees welcome to apply). ** Excellent writing and communications skills required. ** Ability to write technically for reports, manuscripts, and grant/proposal applications, as well as non-technically for presentation to non-scientific audiences. ** Expertise with principles of research and epidemiological methodologies ** Facility with small- and large-scale database management ** Familiarity with disease and/or drug abuse surveillance (temporal, spatial, and spatiotemporal surveillance) a plus ** Strong skills in SAS or SPSS ** Skills in ArcGIS a plus ** Team-oriented and able to work within a collaborative environment. ** Contract Research Organization (CRO) experience a plus ** Experience with the pharmaceutical industry and/or the FDA a strong plus
