Description
As Assistant Director of HIV/AIDS Surveillance, will assist with the routine coordination, management, and evaluation of HIV/AIDS disease surveillance and investigations. Independently implement and conduct HIV/AIDS related supplemental surveillance projects and other surveillance activities in Virginia, including the "Medical Monitoring Project," (MMP). Oversee CDC project protocols, manage related grants, develop and maintain surveillance policies and procedures, supervise professional staff and provide program technical assistance.

Requirements
Thorough knowledge of HIV/AIDS epidemiology, surveillance and reporting procedures and biostatistics. Ability to problem solve; collect/analyze epi data; supervise/evaluate the work of others; develop goals/objectives; and work cooperatively with others. Strong computer and analytical software skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated experience collaborating effectively with collagues/healthcare professionals and conducting trainings/presentations. Degree with major course study in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health and/or equivalent training/work experience. Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or public health and/or equivalent experience/training preferred. Experience interpreting policy, applicable federal or state laws, working in a public health setting and coordinating/performing surveillance activities preferred. MS Office proficiency preferred. Travel and valid driver's license. Applicants needing sponsorship need not apply.
