Description: Individual needed to collaborate with international investigators and research staff conducting clinical trials, epidemiologic studies, and surveillance of infectious diseases, disease outbreaks, and chronic diseases in various developing countries. Responsibilities include designing studies, preparing grant and funding applications, participating in the development of study protocols, case report forms, Standard Operating Procedures, site training, capacity building, and data analysis and publication. Will serve as the primary Westat liaison with study site Principal Investigators, funding agency representatives, and protocol teams. Requires an M.P.H., Ph.D., or Dr.P.H. in epidemiology with 10+ years of post degree experience in the development and conduct of research protocols; at least 2 of which should include the operational aspects of the conduct of studies in international settings. Must possess strong interpersonal and written communications skills and exceptional organizational skills. Must be able to travel to international sites for 2-3 week visits.
