Description
The Department of Epidemiology and the International Center for AIDS Care and Research Programs (ICAP) at the Mailman School of Public Health seek a faculty member at the level of Associate Professor. Reporting to the Director of the ICAP Clinical Unit, the Associate Professor will lead the HIV/TB program and provide support and guidance on a broad range of HIV/AIDS research and programming initiatives, particularly those addressing co-infection, treatment adherence, complications, and substance abuse. S/he will participate in all Clinical Unit activities such as: development of materials, curricula, and tools; performing literature reviews and creating updates for dissemination; development and implementation of innovative approaches to mentorship; multidisciplinary discourse and programming; and other activities as needed. In the Department of Epidemiology, the Associate Professor will serve as the Director of the Infectious Disease Epidemiology course and provide mentorship and supervision to masters and/or doctoral students.
Requirements
A medical degree with postgraduate training in infectious diseases and epidemiology. Minimum 5 – 7 years experience conducting research in HIV infection, co-infection, treatment adherence, complications of HIV, and substance abuse. Exceptional skills and experience in research protocol and instrument development, as well as outstanding methodologic and analytic skills. Demonstrated experience conducting HIV-related research with cohorts of patients and experience working in resource-limited settings. Successful funding history. Strong teaching and publication record. Exceptional English-language written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal and management skills.
