The incumbent serves as the Deputy Director of the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS) and shares fully with the Director responsibilities for managing the scientific and administrative activities of the DCCPS.

Major Duties:

The Deputy Director participates in the planning, direction, implementation and evaluation of a coordinated program in cancer survivorship; cancer statistics and surveillance; basic and applied bio-behavioral research, including studies on smoking, diet and nutrition, special populations, physical activity and other lifestyle attributes; applied cancer-screening and health communications; and cancer epidemiology and human genetics.
Serves as a Senior Scientist with demonstrated experience and considerable recognition for achievements related to cancer control research and/or application, public health, bio-behavioral research, applied cancer screening and health communications, cancer epidemiology and health behavior.
