Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), a major research component of the NIH and DHHS, is recruiting for a Scientific Program Administrator who will have a leadership role in extramural programs related to environmental epidemiology, clinical and public health research, especially in those areas related to linking environmental exposures to human disease. The NIEHS grant portfolio currently includes population and community based studies of diseases such as cancer, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, reproduction including infertility, and neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative diseases. The individual selected for this position will manage a diverse grants portfolio, define new research directions, encourage scientists with appropriate expertise and interests to develop and submit grant applications, and foster interactions with other programs across NIH.

Requirements
The successful individual will possess a graduate degree (Ph.D, or M.D.) and have training in areas relevant to epidemiology and public health science. He/she will have leadership/managerial skills and experience that include responsibility for the conduct and administration of biomedically related research. Experience with issues related to assessment of environmental exposures in population-based studies is desirable.
Salary range is $65,411 - $119,489 and will be commensurate with research experience and accomplishment. A full Civil Service package of benefits (including retirement, health, life and long term care insurance, Thrift Savings Plan participation, etc.) is available.
