Faculty Positions Academic Year 2008-2009

The University is pleased to solicit applications and nominations for faculty positions for the academic year 2008-2009. Unless otherwise indicated, faculty appointments are tenure-track at the rank of Assistant Professor and require an earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in the field. (ABD’s may however be considered for appointment at the rank of instructor, with projected completion of degree requirements by June 2010). Candidates should send letters of application, current curriculum vitae, and dossier to the Chairperson of the respective Department, Drawer CHE, William Paterson University, 300 Pompton Road, Wayne, NJ 07470. Documentation of a high level of teaching effectiveness and commitment to scholarship, creative expression, and service is highly desirable. Review of applications will commence upon approval for funding and continue until the position is filled. The academic year commences September 1, 2008.


Department of Community Health

Earned doctorate in Health Education or Public Health and CHES certification or CHES eligible. Documented evidence of college teaching, research, and scholarly publications is required. Candidates must have expertise in teaching Research Methods and other courses such as Epidemiology, Community Health Methods, Personal Health, and Human Disease.


Department of Environmental Science
Richard Pardi, chairperson (email: pardir@wpunj.edu)

Environmental Geoscience. Specialization in any area of environmental geosciences. Position entails expectation of teaching introductory environmental and geoscience courses as well as advanced courses in area of specialization. All candidates expected to pursue a research program that involves undergraduate students.
