Description
National Infectious Diseases Program and National MRSA Program are jointly seeking a full-time BC/BE physician with background and experience in Infectious Disease and/or Epidemiology. Expertise and recent work experience with Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and other multi-drug resistant organisms is highly preferred. Candidates should have a strong interest in clinical research. Incumbent will provide expertise for the ongoing planning, implementation, and maintenance of the VHA MRSA Prevention Initiative. http://www.va.gov/Pittsburgh/mrsa/. Candidate will serve as an authority and integrates knowledge and experience of infectious disease and infection control standards to provide guidance on cross cutting procedural and multi-layered and multifaceted policy and program issues. He/she will apply epidemiological principles and/or procedures to review, analyze, and evaluate problems, situations, inconsistencies, and/or issues related to MRSA Prevention. The incumbent will serve as back-up to the Project Director of the National MRSA Program, which is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where the incumbent will be located. The incumbent will also serve as a liaison between the National MRSA Program and the National Infectious Diseases Program, which is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The incumbent's immediate supervisor is the National Director, Infectious Diseases Program. He/she will demonstrate a tenacious and resolute enthusiasm for infection control and prevention and the practice of quality medicine for our nation's veterans.
