The Department of Epidemiology and the Institute of Human Virology, University of Maryland School of Medicine seek candidates for a non-tenure track assistant or associate professor. The successful candidate will conduct research in the area of viruses and cancer and is expected to become a member in the University of Maryland Department of Epidemiology and the Institute of Human Virology

General emphasis in research will be on the design, implementation and analysis of population-based studies to establish the viral human susceptibility causes of cancer and to elucidate gene/virus interactions. The research could also be expanded to include studies of other infections. Interest and experience with working in developing countries is required. Interest in living or extended stay in Nigeria is required. In addition to developing an independent program of research, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in collaborative research activities within the department. The successful applicant will hold a medical degree, or doctoral degree in epidemiology. The level of appointment will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
