The Divisions of Rheumatology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, two major teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical School, are recruiting a rheumatic disease methodologist. These two major rheumatology programs have research budgets of over $20 million annually with several NIH grants and funding from other sources as well. Both Divisions have well developed clinical research groups with over twenty years of experience. Each Division has multiple research faculty, research fellows, and post-doctoral fellows working on a variety of projects. Clinical areas of interest include classical epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, pharmaco-epidemiology, and a variety of behavioral interventions to improve outcomes. Disease areas include lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, psoriatic arthritis, and osteoarthritis.

Qualifications: The qualified person will have a doctorate in biostatistics or epidemiology and will be well versed in both disciplines. The position is an Assistant or Associate Professor level at Harvard Medical School (rank commensurate with experience). The successful applicant will have demonstrated the following: an ability to collaborate with clinician investigators; strong publication record; experience with grant writing; and excellent organizational skills.
