DESCRIPTION:
Faculty member sought who can manage the hospital´s Infection Control Program. The Associate Hospital Epidemiologist is responsible for working closely with the Hospital Epidemiologist in providing the necessary leadership to accomplish the following goals:

1) Promote the safety of patients, personnel, trainees and visitors;
2) Decrease the risk for healthcare associated infections
3) Minimize the risk of transmission of infections associated with the use of procedures, medical equipment and medical devices.

Requirements: MD Degree, Board Certification/eligibility in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, eligible for Virginia medical license. Additional training (fellowship and/or advanced degree) or experience in hospital epidemiology desired. Eligible for faculty appointment in the School of Medicine at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
