The Brain & Mind Research Institute (BMRI), the University of Sydney in collaboration with the School of Public Health, the University of Sydney, has established a new Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Policy position. The BMRI, a highly respected research and clinical services institute, has attained a reputation for its unique capacity to blend rigorous, timely analyses with activities designed to enable policymakers, the media, and advocates to make use of its work. This new position will focus on emerging mental health reform efforts in Australia.
The Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Policy aims to inform and influence how governments and the private sector design and implement policy and programs in mental health. The key responsibilities include: public policy development and leadership in the advocacy of mental health as an integral part of the health portfolio; development and execution of the political strategy to engage all Australian governments to commit to the reform of mental health services; and advocacy on behalf of people with a mental illness in Australia and represent the interests of the mental health sector.
The position is available full-time or part-time, fixed term until March 2012, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.
Remuneration package: $104,161 - $119,995 p.a. (which includes a base salary Senior Lecturer Level C $88,017 - $101,489 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation)
