Assistant or Associate Professor of Public Health

The College of Health Sciences at the American University of Armenia invites applications for a faculty position at the College of Health Sciences, American University of Armenia. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate potential as a faculty in higher education in public health. The position offers an exciting opportunity for an academic scholar to develop a program of research, to teach in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program, to mentor and motivate graduate public health students, and to participate in the continuing development of the MPH program, including curriculum development and student recruitment. Applicants must have an appropriate doctorate in either Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Services Research, Health Administration, or a related field, or a health professional doctorate with academic training
in one of the fields of public health from a Western University. It is expected that the appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will also participate with the Center for Health Services Research and Development in the College of Health Sciences, provide leadership and coordination for an established, interdisciplinary MPH program, teach graduate courses in his or her areas of expertise and contribute to both public health and health services research degree programs. Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include contribution toward housing, health insurance, and round-trip travel. Physical presence in Yerevan during the entire academic year is required.

The College of Health Sciences is committed to research and teaching excellence. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate potential for establishing a successful program of funded research and teaching at the graduate level. Candidates with research experience in
a wide variety of areas are encouraged to apply. These fields include health economics, health policy, health care quality and outcomes measurement, health care planning and marketing, health care finance, health care human resource management, epidemiology, behavioral science,
business and health services research. The ability to contribute to diversity initiatives including extending educational opportunities to students of diverse backgrounds is highly desirable.

The American University of Armenia (AUA) is a privately endowed independent American institution of higher education in the Republic of Armenia. Located in the Capital, Yerevan, AUA offers graduate instruction leading to the Master's degree in eight fields of study: Business Administration, Industrial Engineering and Systems Management, Computer and Information Science, Political Science, Public Health, Law, Comparative Legal Studies, and Teaching of English as a Foreign Language. AUA is affiliated with the University of California and is
accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in the USA.
