The Clinical Research Program (CRP) at Children's Hospital, Boston and Harvard Medical School seek candidates for the position of Director of the Biostatistics Core at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. The Biostatistics Core currently provides biostatistical support and consultation to investigators from several departments in the Hospital.

The Director's position is responsible for the daily oversight and scientific direction of the Biostatistics Core of the Clinical Research Program. This individual will supervise the faculty and staff of the Core, provide senior-level statistical and study design expertise for the development of grant applications and for ongoing studies, interact with clinical investigators on the design, implementation, and analysis of clinical studies, pursue opportunities for programmatic growth and research funding, and participate in teaching seminars on epidemiology and biostatistics to clinical faculty at Children's Hospital. The Director of the Biostatistics Core will also work with other Core leaders and directors within the Clinical Research Program to help form alliances and partnerships to build a state of the art research and service environment under the leadership of the Program Director.

Qualified candidates must have Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology or a related field and a minimum of seven to ten years experience in clinical research with a demonstrated ability in the design and analysis of clinical trials. The successful candidate should have a strong record of collaborative research and peer-reviewed publications, outstanding communications skills, and experience managing faculty and staff as well as a professional orientation toward service and teamwork. Faculty appointment will be at the Harvard Medical School in a clinical department relevant to the candidate's expertise.
