Job Description
The Division of Gerontology, Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, is seeking an assistant professor for an NIA-funded study of caregivers of hip fracture patients. The successful candidate will assume leadership in coordinating collaborative research, including project coordination, questionnaire development, field management, data analysis, manuscript development, and grant writing. The person selected will also assume other coordination responsibilities in the Baltimore Hip Studies Program, a multifaceted research program dedicated to studying and enhancing recovery from hip fracture.
The Division has ongoing gerontologic research programs in hip fracture, osteoporosis, long-term care, women’s health, and methods for studying older persons conducted within a multidisciplinary research environment. Education and Experience:
A doctoral degree (PhD or comparable degree) in epidemiology, behavioral or social science, or gerontology is highly desirable. Interest in pursuing research in gerontology required and experience in the design and management of evidence based studies in an academic setting is also highly desirable.
