Job Description

The Medical Affairs department is recruiting an Infection Control Epidemiologist to assist the Associate Director of the Department of Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control and the Hospital Epidemiologist in developing a strategic plan for the infection control program at the Hospital. This position has the major task for implementing the infection control program in their area of responsibility.

Other responsibilities include:
• Continuously evaluates all policies, procedures and practices relating to infection control within the institution to assure optimum protection for all patients, visitors and employees
• Utilizes an advanced knowledge of epidemiology, infectious diseases, sterilization, sanitation and disinfection practices, modes of disease transmission and specific principles of infection control and prevention
• Accountable to both the Hospital Epidemiologist and the Associate Director of the Department of Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control for meeting these responsibilities

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a Master's degree in Microbiology, Public Health or a related field
• R.N. requires a minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience
• Other disciplines require two years of infection control experience
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred
