Description
The Department of International Health and Development, Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, invites applications for an Assistant Professor position focusing on correctional health and HIV in developing countries. This is a tenure track position.
The Department of International Health and Development is interdisciplinary and international in scope. Researchers from the fields of public health, demography, reproductive health, economics, epidemiology, public nutrition, medical anthropology, and development focus on the policy and programmatic issues in improving health in global settings. The Department's research portfolio includes support from USAID, CDC, NIH, as well as from foundations.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct independent and collaborative research that contributes to the Department’s growing portfolio of research on violence prevention (including research on programs to reduce sexual assault among prisoners, and on homicide prevention programs), as well as collaborative research in the area of HIV prevention. He/she will teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses in public health.

Requirements
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in public health or in a related field, and must have demonstrated expertise in correctional health and HIV in developing countries. Experience with both quantitative and qualitative methods will be considered an asset. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and show excellent potential for obtaining external research funding.
