Description
The position will provide leadership and administrative oversight for the Missouri Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and the Missouri Cancer Registry, and direct the Chronic Disease and Nutritional Epidemiology Response Team. This team generates key chronic disease burden reports, health disparity reports and other focused analysis that are crucial in targeting public health resources to improve the health status of Missourians. The team also works with the Bureau of Health Informatics in the development of on-line data tools providing chronic disease risk factor data.

Requirements
We are seeking candidates who will identify public health problems specific to target populations and investigate chronic conditions for selection population groups, perform study design, data collection and dissemination, and legal (IRB) compliance; perform biostatistical analysis of data from state surveillance, epidemiologic investigations and studies; determine validity of epidemiologic data and interprets data for application to state and local populations and evidence-based interventions and control measures in response to epidemiologic findings; ensure and support the evaluation of programs and exhibits strong community/cultural diversity dimensions of epidemiology practice; lead epidemiologic studies, public health programs, and community public health planning processes at state and local levels; and conduct demographic variation and health disparity analyses. The successful candidate will manage a staff of ten that include doctoral-level analysts, epidemiology specialists and a co-team leader who shares supervisory responsibilities.
