Greece: Epidemiologist and Biostatistician (2 listings), Athens University Medical School, Dept of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics

Two positions:

EPIDEMIOLOGIST

The Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics within the Athens University Medical School (Greece) seeks a highly motivated Epidemiologist to join the Occupational Medicine & Environmental Health (OM & EH) section.

The Department is located in the Goudi campus of the Athens Medical School. The OM & EH section is involved in numerous research projects on occupational diseases (acute and chronic) and corresponding risk factors, health education and health promotion, biological and environmental monitoring, health risk assessment in the workplace as well as coordinating a postgraduate program on “ Environmental and Occupational health Risk Assessment and Management”.

Minimum skills required:
• PhD (or equivalent) in Epidemiology or relate Human Health Science; alternatively an M.D with a Master’s degree may be considered
• 2-3 years experience in epidemiologic research using varying methodological designs (case-control, cohort or other longitudinal studies); experience in environmental epidemiology is desirable
• Experience in statistical analysis and research methodology
• Written and oral presentation skills
• Team spirit and interdisciplinary cooperation abilities
• Ability to complete projects and to work with deadlines

Also desirable:
• Epidemiology experience in academic settings
• Long-term commitment
• Familiarity with statistical software packages

BIOSTATISTICIAN

• 2-3 years experience in medical statistics analysis using varying methodological designs (case-control, cohort or other longitudinal studies); experience in Statistical Methods for Environmental Epidemiology is desirable
• Experience in epidemiologic research methodology
• Written and oral presentation skills
• Team spirit and interdisciplinary cooperation abilities
• Ability to complete projects and to work with deadlines

Also desirable:
• Medical statistics experience in academic settings
• Long-term commitment
• Ability to use several statistical software packages
