The salary range for this position is $16.37 min - $29.10 max hourly (Pay Band 70). Offered salary is determined based on education and experience qualifications.

Purpose of Position
Work will be performed at Region 5 within the Public Health Division, in conjunction with the Epidemiology and Response Division Infectious Disease Epidemiology Bureau. Responsible for the collection and analysis of surveillance data for infectious diseases that are of particular importance to the US-Mexico Border for the Border Infectious Disease Surveillance (BIDS) Project. Work will be performed independently, and as a team member with multiple agencies throughout Region 5 and Mexico
Educational requirements
A Master's Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics/Mathematics or Social Sciences is required for this position.

Four (4) years experience in public health or surveillance/data analysis are required for this position.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid NM driver's license. Extensive travel including overnight and weekends is required when working on pandemic influenza projects in surrounding counties.
Supplemental Skills/Abilities
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Bargaining Unit Position
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to.
Working Environment
Office setting (Monday through Friday 8-5). Required to lift up to 50 pounds.
