Health: Oklahoma State University. Faculty position: Health Promotion. Assistant Professor, beginning August 2009. This is a full-time, tenure-track position with a nine-month academic year appointment based on the Stillwater campus. Qualifications include an earned Doctorate in Health Education, Health Promotion, Public Health, Community Health or related area; ability to teach in a higher education setting; evidence of research or other scholarly activity; and evidence of involvement in professional service. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated research agenda; work experience in a community, worksite, medical health, or school health setting; demonstrated ability to seek external funds, ability to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in diverse academic programs, and demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills which promote collegiality and collaboration. Responsibilities: teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Health Promotion: undergraduate course load may include but is not limited to: Gerontology, Health and Human Sexuality, Health Promotion Program Design, Epidemiology, Drug and Alcohol Education, and School Health Programs. Graduate course load may include, but is not limited to: Health Promotion Program Implementation and Evaluation, Health Behavior Theory and Cultural issues in Health. Successful candidates will conduct a program of research and publication in the area of health promotion; guide graduate research in areas of expertise; seek external grants and contracts; provide service in the School, College, University and Community; and participate actively in professional organizations. Some teaching on the OSU-Tulsa campus may be assigned. Other duties may be assigned by the School Head. Salary is competitive, and commensurate with experience and background.
