Position Description: The incumbent will work closely with programmers and other analysts in the Health Promotion Statistics Branch responsible for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data for Healthy People 2010 - a national health promotion/disease prevention initiative. Major duties will include examining trends and disparities in the health objectives over time and across sociodemographic groups; preparing data charts summarizing the status of objectives for departmental reports and meetings; presenting original research papers and/or posters at professional meetings (1-2 per year); and representing NCHS at Healthy People 2010 workgroup meetings and conferences. In addition, the incumbent will have the opportunity to participate in high-level meetings within the Department of Health and Human Services, including policy meetings with the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, the Final Review of Healthy People 2010 and development of Healthy People 2020.
