FACULTY POSITION IN BIOLOGY/PRE-MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Millsaps College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position to begin August, 2009. We seek a broadly-trained biologist committed to excellence in teaching and research in a liberal arts environment. The successful applicant is expected to serve as director of the college pre-medical program, to establish an active undergraduate research program, and to teach courses at all levels of the curriculum, including courses in the introductory biology series, human anatomy and physiology and the area of expertise. Applications from candidates with expertise in health-related fields will be considered; areas of particular interest include microbiology, epidemiology, and developmental biology. Ph.D. (completed by August 15, 2009) is required; administrative experience is desirable. Institutional support for faculty research includes core laboratory facilities to support research in molecular biology, microbiology, and microscopy (www.millsaps.edu/biology), start-up funds for laboratory equipment, funds for faculty travel, and competitive faculty development grants.
