Position Description: The East Tennessee State University (ETSU) College of Public Health is seeking applications for up to five full-time, tenure-track faculty positions (open rank). The positions may be in the five core areas of public health: Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Community Health, Health Services Administration and Environmental Health.
ETSU has the only College of Public Health in Tennessee and houses the oldest accredited Environmental Health program in the United States. It has been a CEPH- accredited program since 2000 and is an associate member school of the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH).
With a strong regional focus and deep commitment to educational excellence, the College’s educational programs include thriving MPH programs in the five core areas of public health, two new DrPH programs in Epidemiology and Community Health Education, an MSEH in Environmental Health and a new PhD program in Environmental Health. Qualifications: Applicants should possess or be close to completing a terminal degree and have academic preparation or demonstrated expertise in epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, biostatistics, population health, environmental health, health policy, health services administration or a closely related field. They should also have an interest in broader implications of their research as it relates to policy and practice. Candidates should be able to collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams of basic, clinical, and applied researchers to develop their own program of funded research. The ETSU College of Public Health is a frequent partner with the community, state government and international organizations that are focused on providing public health training where it is needed most. Collaborative research and practice are expected with a multitude of external stakeholders.
Candidates should have a record of, or significant promise for, excellence in research and teaching in relevant areas, a record of peer-reviewed scholarship, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience and participation in NIH or other federally-funded research is an advantage. All new hires are expected to achieve competitive extramural funding within 4 years. Graduate teaching and mentorship is expected.

The Health Affairs Division includes the new College of Public Health, the James H.
