Position description: Via Research, a small global epidemiology and health outcomes company, seeks a health research consultant to plan and conduct retrospective burden of disease studies in countries outside the US using administrative claims or computerized hospital records. Some international travel required, particularly in Eastern Europe. The position is work from home and pay is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications: Masters/PhD, knowledge of epidemiological methods, data management and statistical analysis of large administrative claims databases, and strong written/oral communication skills. Experience working with pharma a plus.

Activities include: study design, data management and statistical analysis of large administrative claims databases; description and integration of country specific health care systems and insurance coverage into study plans; web-based searches, meetings (by phone or in-person) with in-country health specialists, pharma, and government staff in English; hiring, interaction and supervision of in-country research associates; report writing and involvement in presentations and publications. Nature of projects may change over time.
