NIH/NCI: Tenure-Track or Tenured Biostatistician or Statistician, Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, National Cancer Institute

Tenure-Track or Tenured Biostatistician or Statistician
National Institutes of Health

The Biostatistics Branch (BB) in the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG), National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is recruiting for a tenure-track/tenure position. BB statisticians develop statistical research programs and actively collaborate both in cutting-edge studies of genetic, lifestyle, and other environmental causes of cancer and in studies of descriptive and clinical epidemiology and cancer prevention. Statistical research is typically motivated by challenges encountered in DCEG studies, such as choosing an efficient study design, identifying and describing gene-environment interaction, estimating absolute risk, addressing errors in exposure and clinical measurements, and developing strategies to identify true associations in genome-wide scans for genetic variants implicated in disease. We anticipate increasing opportunities for research and applications in high-dimensional data analysis and statistical computing, Bayesian methods, quality control of laboratory measurements, causal inference and methods for longitudinal data analysis. Because of the breadth of the problems we face, however, we seek qualified applicants with all areas of statistical expertise.
