Genetic Epidemiologist
King Hussein Institute for Biotechnology and Cancer (KHIBC) is a not-for-profit non-governmental organization in Amman, Jordan, which aims to provide state-of-the-art care for the purpose of eliminating suffering and death from cancer through education, awareness, prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Furthermore, the Institute aims to advance life sciences and biotechnology and their contribution to medicine in the world through innovative research and scientific discoveries.
KHIBC is looking to hire a Genetic Epidemiologist, the selected candidate must have experience in the design, conduct, and analysis of genetic epidemiologic studies of cancer in human populations.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Planning and implementation of genetic epidemiology research.
Contribute to ongoing genetic epidemiology studies as well as to the design and implementation of new studies.
Contribute to all aspects of the genetic epidemiology research including clinical, laboratory and statistical analyses.
Preparation of genetic epidemiology research papers for conference presentation.
Required Education and Experience:
Ph.D. in biosciences with a strong background in human genetics, oncology or cancer research or equivalent degree in a related discipline.
Five years of experience in the medical, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology fields.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as proven ability to evaluate, interpret and present complex scientific and clinical data is also preferred.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Good observation and reasoning skills.
Self motivation and the capacity to work in a team.
An ability to produce high quality scientific data.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Very good in Arabic language.
